Polyresin is the debut album for Salt Lake City-based band, Ambedo. Written over two years, the album was written together by the band, recorded and engineered by Davis Johnson, and produced by Ambedo and Davis Johnson with additional mixing and mastering by Lakewood Studios. Polyresin is a base material that can become anything, and the album revolves around these themes of change, and learning to grow into the person you are meant to be beyond expectations and personal restraints -
Each song focuses on a different aspect of this change. The track Have Armor outlines anxiety around having children in a modern age, while songs such as Hold Me Down highlight how our relationships with others can change over time yet still can define us, even though people eventually leave our lives, all while other songs like Everyday highlight the humor in mental health and the repetition of everyday life.
That said, Ambedo enjoys keeping the focus on what's important now, so the album is split between three “sessions” which are live recordings of a D&D session they played with friends (Something they’ve been doing for the larger part of three years) Hoping to inspire others to laugh a bit more, hug a bit more, and hold onto those who hold onto you, while you still can. Ambedo is just happy to be around, and that your around.
